Milano - Italian inspired galvanised steel sliding gate

If you visit Northern Italy and you take an interest in gates, then you will not fail to notice that almost every detached residence in the suburbs has a substantial gate to keep out unwanted vehicles and to provide a secure area for children and pets. These gates are usually powered sliding galvanised steel gates of medium height (max 1.5 metres) and up to 6 metres opening. The unobtrusive light colour of the unpainted galvanised steel finished gates complements the neutral coloured rendered finish of the surrounding residential buildings. Our Milano gate is designed to emulate these Italian gates and is suitable for residential or industrial use.

Gate Construction

We manufacture Milano gates individually to suit openings of up to 6 metres.

The Milano sliding gate is constructed of heavy gauge steel as a single gate. Larger gates are built and transported in 2 sections to be bolted together on site.

• Frame: 80 x 40mm box section - (max 1.5m high)
• Vertical Bars: 16mm dia
• Easy-roll wheels (2) mounted in the bottom of the frame
• Steady rollers mounted on a post at one end of the gate so that the rollers run on the top part of the frame
• Slam post with receiving jaws or receiving jaws mounted on an existing suitable pillar
• Steel track (length will be double the opening width)

Steel Finish

All gate and post metalwork is hot dip galvanised and unpainted to give many years of protection against rust.

Optional Automation

The Milano gate can be supplied as a manual gate without automation. However, this type of gate is usually fitted with a rack and powered by the BFT gate automation.
