| Standard Steel Finish |
| Please check the description page for each gate or railing design for details of the standard steelwork finish and options available. Where a product is supplied with steelwork in Primer finish only, we recommend that further top coats of suitable paint are applied to the gates or railings immediately after they have been installed. |
| Hot Dip Galvanising |
![]() |
| Hot dip galvanising gives the steelwork long term anti-rust protection. Certain gates look fine without painting - but most customers prefer a gloss finish. Primer and further top coats of suitable paint can be applied to the steelwork either at the factory, or on-site after the gates / railings have been erected. |
| Zinc Primed and Powder Coated |
![]() |
| After fabrication, the surface of the steel is shotblasted clean to remove all rust deposits prior to application of the primer. A zinc rich epoxy based powder primer is used which is formulated to increase the corrosion resistance of shot blasted steel when applied before powder coating. Shotblasting, zinc priming and powdercoating are carried out within hours of each other to prevent flash rusting occurring. Powder coating is applied using electrostatic spraying where the paint solids are sprayed onto the product in an atomised powder form and then heated in an oven to 160 - 210 degrees. The powdercoating produces a continuous film over the steel to form a uniform, solid, smooth, tough and resilient coating. |
