Supply of Products

• What is included with an itemised Product:

  • Security Fittings:
    • Manual Steel Swing Gates:   Steel lever latch (padlockable if Double Gate)
    • Manual Timber Swing Gates:   Ring latch (padlockable if Double Gate)
    • Manual Sliding Gates:   Padlock rings
    • Automated Gates:   All supplied motors are self locking.
  • Metalwork Surface Finish:   All metalwork is supplied in black primer finish. Steel products are only galvanised where stated in the quotation. To help prevent rust, customers are advised to apply further good quality top coat paint (eg Hammerite) shortly after installation of the gates and at regular intervals thereafter.
  • Timber Surface Finish:   All timber is brush coated once with Cuprinol Golden Brown exterior wood preserver. Customers are advised to apply further coats shortly after installation of the gates and at regular intervals thereafter. We are unable to give any guarantee against shrinkage, warping or splitting which can be caused by natural reactions to variations in humidity and temperature.
  • Swing Gate Hinges:   Adjustable hinges integrated with supplied steel posts or complete with wall plates for attachment to brick pillars.

Installation Services

• What is included with an itemised Installation Service:

  • Travel:   Travel time between works and site, loading and unloading.
  • Railings:   Securing of railing posts in position (either concreted in the ground or bolted to a wall) and securing of railings to posts.
  • Steel Gate Posts:   Hole excavation and concreting of posts in position.
  • Swing Gates:   Hanging and adjustment of gates on supplied posts or existing pillars. Installation of centre stops in the driveway (if ordered).
  • Sliding Gates:   Preparation and concreting of track in position. Installation of roller and slam post. Erection of supplied gate(s).
  • Gate Automation:   Concreting motor box in ground beside pillars (underground type only). Attachment of supplied actuators to posts and gate (above ground types). Installation of control box and sensors. Connection to given power supply at the gate. Installation of any supplied electric lock. Adjustment of gate opening and closing cycles, setting of supplied remote controls.
  • Access Control:   Attachment of Controls to Gate Pillars, Posts or wall. Integration with supplied Gate Automation.

• What is NOT included with an itemised Installation Service (unless stated otherwise in the Quotation):

  1. Preparatory groundwork:   Leveling of the site and removal of trees, earthbanks or any other obstructions.
  2. Laying of cables:   The laying of any required power or intercom/video cables to the gates.
  3. Removal of excavated material:   The removal of any material excavated during the installation.
  4. Making good a driveway finish:   Making good of any tarmac or block paving disturbed during installation.
  5. Further surface treatment:   Application of further coats of paint or preservative to steel or timber gate surfaces.

• Normal hours of work

  We will carry out the work set out in the quotation at the quoted price and during normal working hours (8.00am to 4:00pm Monday to Friday). If you want us to work outside these hours, it will be necessary for us to make an additional charge, which we will agree with you before we start the work.

• Delays

  Any time estimate we provide for doing the work is our best estimate, and we will make every reasonable effort to complete the work on time. However, we cannot be held resonsible for delays due to weather or other circumstances beyond our control. In such situations, we will agree alternative dates with you.

• Charges for variations and additional work

  Additional charges may be made for any variations or additions to the work which you request, or which we find to be necessary whilst we are doing the work and which could not reasonably have been identified when we gave the original quotation. In such a situation, we will explain to you the reasons for the additional work and let you know in advance what the cost of this additional work will be.

• Customer Responsibilities

  Additional charges may be made if further visits to the site are made necessary because the site is not ready for any agreed visit. Please note the following:
  1. Site Preparation:   The driveway in the vicinity of the gate (including the proposed path of any sliding gate track) should be level and free of obstruction.
  2. Gate Pillars:   Any new or existing gate pillars to be used should be complete, sound and capable of supporting the new gates.
  3. Cables/Power Isolator:   Any mains power or intercom/video cables of adequate length should be laid to the gate before we commence work. A power isolator switch should be available within 1 metre of the gates for our fitting team to connect the gate automation.
  4. Access:   Please ensure that we have access to the site at all times while we are doing the work, and that the site is free of vehicles and other obstructions.
  5. Underground:   Please inform us beforehand of any known underground cables, pipes or drains on the site.

Our Order Procedure

1. Placing Your Order:   To place your order with us please return a signed copy of the quotation, with your deposit, to the address below. Please call us if you wish to use a credit card to make the deposit.
2. Our Order Confirmation:   We will send an Order Confirmation to you when we have received your signed Order and deposit. We will also send you a schematic drawing showing basic dimensions (unless we have already been provided with a detailed drawing or we have surveyed the site ourselves).
3. Check, Sign and Return the Drawing:   Please carefully check the dimensions on the drawing, clearly amending any which are incorrect, and then sign a copy of the drawing and return it to Spa Gates. All gates are made to order, and we will not be able to begin manufacture of the gates until we receive this.
4. Our Provisional Delivery/Fitting Date:   We will give you estimated delivery/fitting dates as soon as we can. We will do our best to meet these dates. However, due to the nature of our work, it may be necessary for dates to be changed. We will try to minimise changes and keep you informed at all times.

Payment

• Deposit:   A deposit of 50% of the total price is required with your Order. You can call us and pay by credit card.
• Balance:   The balance of the total agreed price is due either on installation by Spa Gates, or 7 days before delivery for a supply only order.
• Legal Title:   Spa Gates retains full legal title to its Products until it has received in full all amounts due.
